The history of the (historical) era of table tennis in Bük began in 1920, when the Bük Physical Trainers Cultural Association was founded, the first president of which was Jenő Barki. However, table tennis appeared in Bük in the early 1930s, the Evangelical pastor Dezső Fülöp bought a table tennis table for the youth of Alsó-Bük, and the teacher József Szabó acquired the sports equipment for the Catholic youth for similar reasons. A third table was purchased in 1934 with money collected by the young people and was set up in the open air at the entrance of Lajos Kiss. ​​At that time, Kálmán Barki, Gyula Bedy, Lajos Kiss, Sándor Cser, Gyula Németh, István Németh, Imre Fekete, Ernő Rozinek, Jenő Lőrincz practiced table tennis as part of the association. By the end of the war in 1945, only one table remained intact, which was set up in the Lökkös restaurant.

The Bük table tennis section was founded on July 18, 1949, when László Sövegjártó and 20 competitors formed the Bük Cooperative Sports Association. The first head of the section was Jenő Lőrincz, who was taken over by László Sövegjártó after a year and a half, and led the section for nearly two decades. The first championship was won by Ernő Rozinek, and in doubles, Rozinek-Sövegjártó was the winner. The decisive players of the fifties were Lajos Kiss, Gyula Bedy, László Sövegjártó, Gyula Mesterházy, László Rózsa, Dezső Boda, Miklós Pék, Jenő Kebelei and János Savanyú.

In the 1960s, table tennis in Bük continued to grow stronger, and by then György and Miklós Antalovits, László Zsömbölyi, Károly Kisfaludy, Gábor Szabó, László Antalovits, and Imre Csonka had joined the department. In 1968, at the department meeting, György Antalovits was appointed head of the department.

1971-ben a büki csapat megnyerte a megyei csapatbajnokságot, a csapat tagjai, Antalovits György, Kisfaludy Károly, Csonka Imre, Szabó Gábor, Horváth László, Szabó Imre, Iliás Pál.
1975-re már csak a női csapat maradt a megyei bajnokságban, a Sárvári Erzsébet, Sárvári Teréz, Csuka Andrea összeállításban megnyerték a bajnokságot.

1976-tól 1993-ig a büki asztalitenisz pangási időszaka következett, mivel nem volt sem férfi sem pedig női csapat, sőt valójában a szakosztály is megszünt.
1994-ben újjászerveződött a szakosztály Szarka Tibor, Antalovits György és Pék Miklós vezetésével, és ekkor kialakult egy asztaliteniszező mag, melynek tagjai voltak: Sárai István, Hetyésy Balázs, Ifj. Szidoly László, Böndicz Gergő, Strén Péter, Hódosi Árpád, Horváth Róbert, Hauer Veronika. 1995-ben sikerült a szakosztály fennállásának 46. évében az NB-III. bajnokságba jutni, a csapat tagjai: Antalovits György, Biácsi Tamás, Dohi László, Domonkos Ferenc, Geröly János, Pék Attila, Varga Elemér, Boda Dezső. 1996-ban csatlakozott a csapathoz, Tarr Sándor, Botfa Tibor és Németh Dávid. 1998-tól csatlakozott a szakosztályhoz Gáspár Gábor, Schmidt László.
1999-ben a csapat megnyerte az NB-III. Bajnokságot, a csapat tagjai: Gáspár Gábor, Pék Attila, Botfa Tibor, Schmidt László, Varga Elemér. A csapat ezek után az NB-II. Bajnokságban folytatta 2003.-ig. Ebben időszakban a csapatban játszott, Bihari Lehel, Csapó Árpád, Szarka Tibor.

From 2003, the department had the opportunity to participate in the NB-I/B. Championship due to a reorganization, which we took advantage of and competed with the team composed of Tibor Szarka, Árpád Csapó, Ferenc Mészáros, Tibor Kádár, László Schmidt, under the guidance of coach Elemér Varga. In 2005, the team won the NB-I/B Championship and earned the right to participate in the NB-I/A Championship. The team members were: Dániel Kriston, Árpád Csapó, Tibor Kádár, Ferenc Mészáros, Gábor Benyovszky. In 2007, the team won the NB-I Championship and had the opportunity to play in the EXTRA LIGA Championship qualifier. The Bük team was promoted to the EXTRA LEAGUE by the team of Máté Móricz, Dániel Kriston, Tibor Kádár, Ferenc Mészáros. In the EXTRA LIGA Championship, the team had to be strengthened in order to become a permanent member of the country's number one championship, so András Podpinka and Dávid Németh were signed, and in 2008 the team achieved 3rd place, the best result in the existence of the Bük Table Tennis Section.
In 2009, the team achieved 3rd place again with the composition of Csaba Bari, Dániel Kriston, Dávid Németh, László Schmidt. This year, another outstanding result was achieved in the international table tennis team championship, in the INTER Cup the team was able to stand on the podium in the city of Verzuolo (Italy) in 3rd place. In the summer of 2009, György Antalovits announced at the section general meeting that he would end his duties as section manager, and then the general meeting entrusted Attila László Schmidt with the management of the section.

In 2010, the team reached 5th place in the EXTRA LIGA Championship with the composition of Csaba Bari, József Szűcs, Dávid Németh, László Schmidt. The county team was re-formed in 2010, with the composition of László Sövegjártó, Gyula Németh, Csaba Horváth, József Varga.
The department will continue its participation in the EXTRA LIGA Championship in 2011 with a new team, whose members are: Csaba Bari, Bálint Soma Fekete, Péter Monostori. The county team will continue its competition with the composition of László Sövegjártó, Gyula Németh, Csaba Horváth, István Sárai, Balázs Hetyésy, Zoltán Kovács.
Another successful part of the division is the veteran team, whose members are: Miklós Pék, György Antalovits, János Geröly, Ferenc Domonkos, Tamás Biácsi, Elemér Varga. The team began its participation in 1995 in Vienna by participating in the veteran European Championship, then in 1997 in Prague, 1999 in Gothenburg, 2001 in Archus, 2002 in Luzern at the World Championship, 2003 in Courmayeur, 2005 in Bratislava, 2006 in Bremen at the World Championship, 2007 in Rotterdam, 2009 in Porec. Miklós Pék achieved outstanding results, winning a bronze medal in the individual world championship in 2006, and becoming European champion in the consolation race in 2007.
