Basketball Section

Foundation year: 1997
The basketball section was founded as a result of some young local people's organizing activity. Their main aim has always been to offer a further sport facility to the young of Bük and its surroundings. We regularly participate in the championship of the county ( www.vasikosar.hu ).
In 2007 we invited the basketball team BC Körmend of the first national league to a gala-match to celebrate our 10. Anniversary with us. News, matches, results and players can be found on the web page: www.btk.fw.hu.
All the sports fans who like basketball are welcome at our trainings.

Go Bük, Go, Go, Go!

Chess Section

Playing chess was spread in Bük after the Second World War. The players won the team championship of the district in 1953, and then they got to the fourth place in 1954 and the third one in 1955 in the first league of the championship of the county. Between 1957 and 1959 the competitive chess playing stood still. However, in 1959 the team began to play again and they first won the most important competition of the district. In this way, they qualified for the competitions of the country. The team was functioning as a circle that time and it came to and end in 1973. In 1985 it revived and the chess championship of the settlement was organised, as well as they launched the so called "Kúria kupa", which meant a challenge competition.

Football Section

The most popular sport is as old as the sports club. Its prosperity began in 1924. Between 1926 and 1929 there were even two teams and in 1931 a glorious period set in. Between 1939 and 1942 the football of Bük slightly declined, but in 1942 the so called Levente-team (a military youth organization in Hungary) consisting of young people of the neighbourhood mostly came out victorious in the fights against the other teams of the surroundings. Moreover, they won the championship of the district in 1943. The wind of the world war, however, took the team apart, but in 1945 a completely new team won the tournament of the county and then they got to the 6th place in the team championship of the second league in the county. Their star was rising unbrokenly and they participated in the first league of the county from 1975 to 1982.

Handball Section
Table-Tennis section

The Table-Tennis Section of Bük celebrates its 62nd anniversary in 2011.
The history of the table-tennis section of Bük goes back to 1920 when the Physical Trainers' Cultural Association of Bük was founded, the chairman of which was Jenő Barki. Table-tennis appeared, however, only at the beginning of the 1930s in Bük when Dezső Fülöp Lutheran Pastor bought a table-tennis table for the youth of Lower Bük. For the same reason József Szabó teacher purchased this sports equipment for the young Catholic people. A third table was bought in 1934 by young men who had collected money for it and who set the table in Lajos Kiss' courtyard. This time Kálmán Barki, Gyula Bedy, Lajos Kiss, Sándor Cser, Gyula Németh, István Németh, Imre Fekete, Ernő Rozinek, Jenő Lőrincz played table-tennis in the association. By the end of the Second World War only one table remained intact that stood in the restaurant Lökkös.
